Today a client of mine contacted me that the wrong link for the keyword was placed in Google.
She was targeting "keyword A" but the site is ranked with the URL that belongs to "keyword B".

How is this possible? I build links only specific for the page, I don't mix different keywords for different urls.

Duplicate content issue, perhaps, on the two pages?

The page targeting keyword A is probably overoptimized. Either too many exact anchor links going into it, or the keyword density on page is too high.

Check out phpbuilt's authority site guide. He talks about this issue there.

Was it like this all the time? Or has it just happened recently?

Thank you for your reply. It could be that to many exact anchors links are going to keyword A. But still how come that it ranks on a totally inrelevant page? the inrelevant page has no anchors with keyword A and doesn't even mention a keyword A in the content. I'll check the phpbuilt's authority site guide. Thanks again for your reply! :)

Checked and dubble-checked everything but the wrong page is still ranking for keyword A.
