For a money page (pre-sell for an affiliate product) as the center of a link wheel, what works best: Another (yet unused) Web2.0 property (say abc.blogger.com) or a new site such as abc.com?

    Any recommendations? Thanks.

Another web 2.0 property would be more efficient because it already has high authority (ex. blogger) than a new domain site created recently. In the end it's all about backlinks.

I'd always go for abc.com rather than another web 2.0. The web 2.0 will get ranked faster, but long term yourkeyphrase.com is going to outrank yourkeyphrase.blog.com or whatever. With your own domain you have total control over each bit of content that appears on your page, your meta tags ect.

So it seems I have the choice of get ranked faster vs have 100% control of my SEO and design on my own domain.

Any compromise here possible? Such as get ranked faster (via Web2.0) AND still have 100% control of layout, design and meta tags?

Guess not, but if anybody have further insights, please let me know.

Perhaps the question could be extended if using a blog (on the own domain) or just a 'landing page' (on the own domain) would be better. Or, is a blog more flexible in terms of more automatic promotions (plugins)?
