I come from a mostly white hat background, wanted to ask about this -

I heard jim boykin at a conference a while back (within the past yr) say that its not enough to get a link from a big site like forbes or engadget etc, bc they publish 100's of pages and the PA will be weak. and rather, you should build 2 links to the link you get to your money site. He said that Google has a thing for the number 2, and hes seen good performance from links that he builds 2 links to. He then said you can be much more shady about these 2 links you are building, bc its not to your website, and ostensibly the site you got it from is strong enough (forbes, or any uni site) where a shady link probably wont hurt the page and for sure wont hurt your money site.

    2 questions from this:

    1) do people agree, esp in regard to the number 2
    2) what is the easiest way to build these 2 links, esp w out budget. The easiest thing i can think of is 2 do follow blog comments and be done with it. thoughts on that?

    Thanks.

My english isnt strong, but from what I understood you are talking about T2 links? if yes, then man if you get link from forbes (doesnt matter if its shity one or legit from article) you can spam the hell out of it with T2 links, t2 links are shitty links that you won't see on google (you cant find them) and nowadays t2 links are to help index t1 links and give "small bits" of power from spamming T1 links (althought I dont believe if they give anything at all) , blog comments are also good

Well thats what I think, I would concentrate on acquiring quality links rather than spamming my 1 link I have with spammy t2

And btw; this is also called parasites

    so you basically agree
that any legit link that you earn to your money site
you should hit it with a couple of links
my q is can these be blog comments, or something even shadier or automatic

    ofc it can be automatic

Hitting T1 links with T2 takes money OR resources, but resources=money so.. its up to you, I use T2 to index T1 links, not to power them, you can blast web 2.0 with T2 links althought Im hearing more often that it does almost nothing OR.. nothing
