I come from a mostly white hat background, wanted to ask about this - I heard jim boykin at a conference a while back (within the past yr) say that its not enough to get a link from a big site like forbes or engadget etc, bc they publish 100's of pages and the PA will be weak. and rather, you should build 2 links to the link you get to your money site. He said that Google has a thing for the number 2, and hes seen good performance from links that he builds 2 links to. He then said you can be much more shady about these 2 links you are building, bc its not to your website, and ostensibly the site you got it from is strong enough (forbes, or any uni site) where a shady link probably wont hurt the page and for sure wont hurt your money site. 2 questions from this: 1) do people agree, esp in regard to the number 2 2) what is the easiest way to build these 2 links, esp w out budget. The easiest thing i can think of is 2 do follow blog comments and be done with it. thoughts on that? Thanks.
