This is a question/topic that I've never seen asked and I was wondering if anyone knew. Let's say you write an article with a link to your site in the article and you submit it to let's say a PR2 article directory. Let's say a year or however long later the article directory you submitted to moves up to a PR4, does the quality/authority of that link increase along with the Page Rank increase of the site or does it stay at the same quality that it had at the time of submission? Any help would be appreciated!

Its not that simple. There other factors like how many outbound links the domain has. So lets say you posted on an article directory that was a PR 2 and had 2000 posts on it all with outbound links. Now a year later the domain is now a PR 4 but it has 15,000 posts on it all with outbound links. The PR gets divided among all the domains outbound links so it would probably have less power. So it totally depends.

In simple words, yes the value will increase (provided the site isn't penalized).
