Link Pyramid still works?

Hello BHW,

I do general link building like directories, social bookmarking, articles, press release etc.
I've heard much about the tire 1, tire 2, tire 3 link pyramids
Are they really effective in term of ranking increase and is it good as far as Google is concern?

Sure! Pyramid is the best for me now and I think it will be best for ranking Increase. Also very safe for site if you work right step and good content.
