Hello I was wondering if is it possible (and legal) to embed a link into an image, so that when the image is cliked it redirects to your website

My curiosity begann yesterday when I clicked on a naked women pictures on a website where you can upload sexy pictures and I was redirected to another website

I mean for example posting an image on a forum that points to your website. Is this possible?

it may be in breach of that forum's terms but it's not illegal as far as i'm aware. For facebook, Twitter, Google + etc you could take a look at this.

Hey mate, could you explain more on this one, as these days I am thinking a similar thing, that is, a BIG forum in our country allow signature in each person's comment like a normal forum do, this signature is ONLY allowed to use a picture, not URL, and if I am right, it even only allowed to use the pic in its own image network (I now have no idea if it allow source images URLs too)

The really problem here is, may I make that pic clickable? I know little about HTML, lets say if a forum only allow you use a pic as your signature, you can only input a URL source bla bla, no link in that forum allowed! So in this way, you cant set a clickable image, because you cant control any redirect right?

That's just HTML.. it's legal where they allow the coding for it to occur.

Just like on the forum here.. you can create an image with a link, but if it redirects to a place (selling a service) that relates to you.. you'll get banned.

Never illegal though.. unless it warps the user's system in some non-agreed way.
