Link Building methods?

Your Specific post which you want rank 80%
and Home 20%

Thats how I do Link Building

Depends on your goals. Are you getting backlinks to strengthen the authority of your entire domain so you can rank higher for future keywords that you'll target? In this case, build them to your homepage because - assuming you've siloed your site properly - the link juice will flow through the links, from the homepage to the other important pages.

If you're interested in boosting the rankings of your inner page then point them to those pages. But in general, I agree with the other members, you should build links both to the homepage and to content pages, and the ratio depends on your goals

Thank you for the nice explanation. so basically I have to create links for both and as my target is ranking "post page" I should more focus on that pages, but still, links need for the home page right?

That's pretty much summarises my answer.
You want to rank posts so obviously you link to posts and only now and then to the main page.
For example, I use yahoo for news, yahoo is just a news aggregator so you see the way they link to other sites? they barely link to the homepages.

You don't "have to". Again, it comes down to what you're looking to accomplish. If you want to rank your content pages and you know that your budget is limited then definitely point the few good links you can get to the content pages. That's what makes most sense :)

But if your SEO pockets are deep and you're in for the long term then increasing the authority of your entire domain is more important, in which case you'd point your most powerful links to the homepage. At least that's what I do

Great one more thing, If I create backlinks I understand it should be niche-related for the post links. But my site is a general pet niche so is it okay to get any kind of pet-related backlinks to the home page??

Both together Backlinklink to your main site and to attract to your keyword onpage seo and offpage seo both work together if you do onpage seo and don't create anybacklinks i know for low competative keyword it will work but for medium you have to create backlinks and you have to create the links to your mainsite and to specific url on your page both required like 80% to your url and 20% to your mainsite.

of course. Not only is it ok, but it's also recommended that you get niche-related backlinks. If you can find them that is. Otherwise, any backlink will do, as long as it's decent (is in-content and comes from good domains)

Link building is the process of creating links from external websites to your own in order to improve a website's search engine ranking. Common methods include guest blogging, directory submission, broken link building, and link exchanges.
