This morning I received a letter from my ISP regarding the downloading of UFC 114 Rampage vs Evans via bit torrent. Apparently the UFC contacted my ISP which then contacted me.

If anyone saw this particular UFC then you'd know that it was really over-hyped and didn't deliver on that hype, something that is beginning to happen more and more often with the UFC.

Has anyone else received a letter like this?

learn how 2 use proxies when you're torrenting/DLing unless you enjoy these threatening letters or want to be sued.

its common for ppl to get letters like this that DL movies & tv shows.

Got one straight from the ISP for downloading stuff a couple years ago. They sent me an email not 5 minutes after it finished downloading. I told them to fuck themselves and switched to Verizon Fios.

The UFC are going after people hard. What country are you in? Just ignore it IMO, or tell them no I didn't open network, someone else, no idea what your talking about bla bla.

Get ready to get rid of that HD though. Or Dban it at least.

Used to sell videos in the early 90's before they were available in the UK so did not think I was pissing anyone off, I got a nasty letter asking me to stop, recently UFC threatened my host company and they pulled my hosting, I got my account back but after some ass kissing. UFC seem to use a sledge hammer to crack a peanut every time. That said I sold that many vids in the 90's I think I was the major contributor to the popularity of MMA in the UK. - Thinking about it they should have been paying me for the PR ( im going to write a letter)

I'm in the US, I already called the ISP, the letter said they would have suspended my service if I didn't. The lady I spoke to on the phone said that if I received an additional 2 complaints they'd terminate my service and turn my personal info over to the UFC.

I have proxies and I'd consider using them for torrents but I'm not confident they'd handle things any differently.

I'll probably end up using that BTGuard service, at only $7 a month it's worth the peace of mind.

Honestly, I probably would consider shelling out the $$$ if I knew they were going to deliver decent fights. It seems like they're so concerned with aggressively expanding into the UK and Japan that they're putting on shitty cards to with fighters that are popular in these countries.

Take this last UFC, Lesner vs Carwin, the "co-main event" was Chris Lebmen (who fought 2 weeks prior) and this new dude who is huge in Japan. They always use try to use Lebmen as a can opener for these new fighters. This was their biggest event of the year and they should have put on a spectacular card for the fans but instead they used to try and grow in the Japanese market. To bad it backfired...

Interestingly enough though that Japanese dude that just lost in the main event of UFC 120 in October. When have you ever seen a new fighter lose and then fight in the main event their next go around?
