1. Find some keywords for niches
2. Check their stats on VIDIQ: Searches / Competition
3. Compare the stats found with the top results on YouTube: How many subs/views/etc
4. Check how many GOOGLE searches the keywords get to get an idea as to how popular the topic is
5. Go over to Google trending and change it to YouTube: 12/X months / USA

What's annoying with this is that you'll end up with VIDIQ stats suggesting it's a good keyword but everwhere else suggests otherwise. You will sometimes see YouTube keyword page results suggesting it's a popular term being searched but do-able and you invest time and money into it and end up with nothing in return. Literally ZERO ROI.

Maybe we I'm/we are doing something wrong and there are other methods that can be done.

Can we all post on this thread and discuss it so we can help each other out?

indeed, youtube search suggestions shows sometimes very low volume keywords. Use VPN to check suggestions from different Geos for confirmation.

I skip the VIDIQ step altogether. The volume stats that they are showing are all over the place. Google search volume is also not very relevant, unless the video carousel is visible on the first page of results.
Comparing the views/subs of the top videos in your keyword can be a nice confirmation, but keep in mind that you have no idea where those views came from - they could be suggested or home views, or even search views from a completely different keyword.

Google trends and auto-suggest are the only tools Google gives us in regards to keyword analysis, and you need to make the best from it.

I have 200k + subs channel and it's insane.
I mean I use vidiq and it does not help
cant imagine what to use to rank better
youtube has changed nowadays
