So, from what I understand from reading different threads, I shouldn't point PBN links directly to my main site. Instead, I should point them to web 2.0, slideshare etc. that point to my site.

So essentially, it would look like this:

PBN---->Web 2.0---->Main Site.

Is this the right way to go about it?

Dont trust everything, there is no exact method . You can direct PBN directly to your money sites if its really a PBN. That approach is good if chances are that PBN is shity.

You can do that and you can also do PBN----->Main Site, especially if the PBN are good and your link profile is diversified.

Ok, so it sounds like I really need to do research before purchasing a PBN, and then if it's a high quality network I can just link it directly to my site without having to go through an extra layer.

My understanding of the tier methods. These 2nd rate tiers are sitting back their tumbling their internal links while also feeding juice to the tier 1 site. Scale it up as appropriate.
