Hi there. I plan on utilizing SEO for niche sites at some point in the near future, but right now I am most interested in promoting the main site for my business, which is launching in the next few days. There are quite a few keywords/phrases that I would like to rank high for (#1, preferably). While the field is competitive, it probably isn't nearly as much as a lot of other industries (less than 50 serious companies and no more than a few dozen that do any real SEO). Also, I've had pretty good success with some big keywords using my last site just by having a good domain, having some keywords in a paragraph at top, and hiding some keywords at the bottom (we are changing the business name now and launching with a fresh site).

What recommendations do you have? There are so many options I've seen on BHW for packages at affordable prices that look like they would have to have some significant results. I'm ready to give one or more a shot.

*** The most important thing to me is to make sure I do not harm our business name and also not to cheapen it in any way or blacklist it anywhere. ***

Thanks ahead of time for any tips!

If you are a legitimate business, and don't want to tarnish its name, then head over to the whitehat forum. I'm willing to bet a majority of your customers would disapprove of you using blackhat methods to go after their business...Unless you are marketing something in the blackhat niche...In which case we have a whole new can of worms :)

I agree with him: If you want to do it balckhat anyway then go for some link wheeling service that only does the nasty shit in 3 tier or so. Saw one just like that but don't remeber what is what called. You'll find it.

Okay, thanks for the tips. What about using other cloned sites with a different name to promote the same thing? Then what would you recommend? :)

Figured I could shed some light to help you out.

I work in a specific finance industry that is completely legitimate. I've been analyzing my competition for years now and have noticed that the top ranked competition(along with the top earners, as I learned from a national conference) have some Black Hat influences. Most of them have blogs that redirect to their site, or just have a contact number on the blog home page that is the same as their main site's number. Now, the backlinks to the blogs they have are a mix. Some appear to be from "professional" back link services and some are from some scrapebox blasts.

I guess it all depends on the industry you're working with and your own comfort level. With my industry, seems like it's ok to do. I've meet some of my competition face to face and they've been great. I've even worked out some deals with them as they have a huge client base. The clients seem to have no problems with their "methods" as most of them aren't even aware

Take a look in the buy sell services sections and read some of the threads. There are a lot of good guys that offer a quality service there... you'll get a feel for the ones you want to work with after doing some reading... you want to do business with someone that you are comfortable with so engage the once offering a service in conversation via PM or email as well.

Check out the white hat section, u'd basically have to build links manually and find affilliattes and all that if you wanna do things right it'll take alot of time though

What techniques you use will completely depend on your niche. Sometimes, you can get a good ROI with blackhat techniques and ordering grunt work packages that get sold on here. For anything that's remotely competitive you can dump all the money you want into article marketing or link spam you want but it's not going to get you any decent ranking. For this sort of thing you'll only want to spend money on clever link acquisition strategies that cost a lot more per hour but will actually get you ranked at the top with far less links.

I only take clients that need real SEO strategy put in place. I've mostly done big budget financial stuff, but I'd be glad to give you an honest needs analysis if you PM me. If it's not the sort of thing you need a guy like me for I'll still give you a solid strategy you can get done cheap by hiring people on here.

I agree. As a business, I always spend a percentage of my budget on continual advertising and article marketing and similar forms do bring in organic traffic, but its usually so small that for money spent, and time and effort, there are better methods out there.
