    Hi Guys,

I want to add a few extracts of several fitness ebooks to a fitness website of mine.

Does anyone know what the legal implications of extracts are? Obviously I could contact the authors directly and ask for permission, but if there was a certain number of words you can legally quote without asking for permission this would be a lot easier.

    Any suggestions?

I think you mean excerpts - not extracts. You are saying that you would like to use a paragraph or two from their ebook publication, yes?

Actually, you need to get the permission from the author to do that.

If you wanted to use an excerpt from an article that is posted somewhere on the web, you can usually do it without permission, but you have to give credit and a link to the author.

    Hope that helps :)
