Lets say you find a blog that has many pages that have been spammed to death but one or two of pages still have only a few comments on them. If you leave a link there is that good or is it still seen as a link from a spam blog from search engines?

I've seen substantial ranking increases in competitive verticals from building on clean pages on spammed domains. If the domain is valued by Google; e.g., Adobe, and you find one of their pages that you can leave a link on, then do it. However, if you find a relatively "unvaluable" blog that has been spammed, then links from their don't really matter anyway.

As mentioned above, if you can find a clean one - go for it.
