    Hi,

Ive been making money from the internet for a while, but this hasn't been in the realm of internet marketing.

I already have some basic knowledge on seo, keyword research, link building, optimizing sites. However after reading around this forum and others I have come to realise what an incredibly fierce environment it is, and the level of software usage and manipulation that is required to get to the top of google for even one of your keywords.

My question was would it then not be easier to outsource this work to someone who know what they are doing. My main issue is i know i can learn these techniques however time is the biggest issue. There are people offering good link building services for under $50. Would you reccommend i follow this route or actually learn blackhat seo techniques from scratch.

Learn blackhat as it will come to use multiple times.I mean imagine it like this:
1)Outsource and pay someone to do it for rest of your IM carrer
2)Learn it,sell your knowledge + earn from your own sites

You can take watever path suits you.I am just sayin ;D

I would recommend outsourcing if you know what you are doing. There are sales specialists and there are performance specialists. Your right outsourcing guy is your service specialist. If needed, you might need to teach him your techniques, but the results can be impressive.

Learn SEO and apply it until you know it well enough to start earning some money, once you hit that point you start outsourcing to increase the amount of projects you are working on at once, making you more money.

Understand one thing. Even when you outsource, you must KNOW. Else, the guy doing the job can take you for a glorious ride. So just because you need to learn, you cannot outsource. Outsourcing saves you time and energy, you can spend elsewhere.

Imo if you want to outsource it, you have to learn and know the how-to first, otherwise, how can you tell if the outsourcer is doing a good job or not?

Yes, there are people offering link building services and if you use them, you'll get some links built. And that's it, the outsourcer's work is done. They sell links, usually a specific kind of them.

Are those links going to rank your site? Are they good? Are they good but the kw is competitive and you need more of them? Or are the links just plain crappy, that crappy that no matter the quantity they will always suck?

You should know that. You are mind. The outsourcer does the leg work.

If you let the outsourcer be the mind, you are taking a big leap of faith and the outcome may not satisfy you.

If you really need some serious SEO work done, you should find a reliable person that usually is not so cheap. If it's cheap, it's a red flag imo.

A wise business owner works ON his business not IN his business. My business is link building, I don't do it myself, I pay others to do it for me.

There's nothing to say that it's mutually exclusive - if you have the money (and not so much time) - find a reputable source and outsource it, at the same time, learn all you can about link building, so that you don't waste money on less effective methods, and so that you can understand what your freelancers are doing for you (and not doing for you).

You don't have to do it yourself, but you have to understand what they're really doing...
