Although I appreciate the perceived intention by which you posted this - and its' interesting to see someone post a method I've used for a very long time - I do have to question your motives as they appear to be purely based on the fact that you're simply hanging this method out for all to see (a sacrificial lamb) to merely increase your blog traffic. So on that note I have to agree with the other veterans on here that this isn't the place to spill the blood of this lamb so that it can end up another "old school method" SEO n00bs reminisce about that USE TO WORK!

...then again...do as you will but don't be surprised when 301 redirects are reconsidered by Google in the near future.

I think what masterZ means about Noobs is that Inexperienced people will spread this knowledge to many other forums to gain rep or status.......never giving a thought as to the harm they are doing.

99% of people who read this post, won't try
    it.

1% of those who do try and rank a site
this way, maybe 50% will actually have a
good crack at it. The remaining 50% will
do a half-ass job and not see any results.

That means, even if this is shared, nothing
will happen because there aren't enough
    doers in this world.

I think the whole motivation behind aforementioned post was to keep a method working instead of killing it via the masses....... Does that make sense to you bro?

Given your intentions and feelings about this the info in this thread, actually it would prob be better you ignore the thread and hope it dies and is forgotten rather than posting your rant which actually validates the method and keeps the thread alive with you bumping up the thread.

How many times are you going to repost this thread promoting your blog?

I thought 301 redirects transferred the penalty anyway. As least they did when my second site went down about 2 weeks later.

Excatly right and true of most things in life. You could give the secret to growing a literal money tree and maybe 1% will do it and do it right.

I've done this method on several occasions, it has great short term effects, maybe 1-3 months... After which, the end site often loses it's PR rapidly until it hits 0 at a rate of about 1 point per month until 0 and then it becomes completely de-indexed.

I doubt it, it's a step by step plan/method, at least 10% people will try it.

When I see this thread pop up again, I am not so eager to try it now, I bet this method will be banned by Google very soon.

Well considering how many times he's posted the technique this year alone, it's probably been banned in April or May....

I saw this post here before I became a member....

Of course it has great short term ranking potential - I thought this was almost common knowledge. Practically common sense even, you're redirecting authority. Spamming the URL's with crap links is also going to transfer over, eventually.

I've had some good results with this, and when done well I'm sure it's great for short term ranking. Still though, it's not secret sauce.

People are acting like this is some big secret that needs to be hidden. Its just hype. This is an old technique which is good for a little PR. Its a tiny segment in an entire SEO strategy and is especially good for new sites. However, sending spam links is not a good idea.
