    Hi Everyone,

weel here am I for my first thread on BHW. I must say it s a wonderful resource for a first insught in the business.

    So we are now in the process of building our website, refining our concept and perfecting our strategy. I have several questions for you experts out there;

    a) Does anyone have any experience in integrating webcam content(MODELS) from several sources (i.e. affiliate program providers) at the same time on one webpage ?

    b) From the classic tale of which came first from the egg and the chicken, we all know you need models and traffic. We are thinking about woking with models from providers for launch so we build traffic, then start hiring our own models. How about this for an option ?

    c) after this step, we plan on setting up a studio, so we can first of all control the quality of our content, recruit our very own models, signed under our label.

    d) It seems to us that there are very few 'High specs' adult webcam sites out there. I mean few seem to bother about the quality and p^rofessionalism of their models, as well as about the quality of the environment5background, light, clothes, lingerie, etc....). My question is, do you guys believe that the top segment i.e. 'High class models' can be considered as a 'Niche' ?

    e) We need some advice on how to recruit quality models

I skip all the SEO, Marketing, traffic exchange, ads, and affiliates stuff because from what I know it is all the same everywhere, please correct me if I am wrong :)

Any advice, critics or experience is more than welcome :)

    Many Thanks

    R

You should have answered these questions before you even started - asking them just before you launch is a bad sign. Why have you have left it so late to do your research and planning?

As far as setting up a studio, depending on what country you are in, it may not even be legal - have you at least researched your local laws?

Also, studios are hard to run, expensive and depending on your operation, potentially not worth bothering with - cam girls can be lazy, tardy and unreliable, so making sure they turn up is a mission. And unless you are catering to a specific niche/fetish, don't try controlling the content.

There are plenty of 'high spec adult webcam sites out there'. There are some huge players in the market and the competition is fierce so HD content is becoming standard.

When you say 'high class models' what do you mean? Good looking? Because in the webcam world, looks are not everything and everyone has different tastes. Every model is good looking to someone, so no, that's not a niche.

Recruiting good quality models - now that's something you are going to have to figure out yourself. In the webcam industry you are competing not only for customers, but for the models too.

To start with though, just focus on getting as many models as you can - you need quantity to start with, so you can attract visitors.

Good luck with the business, but it's a notoriously difficult one, and unless you have some real way of standing out from the crowd and being unique, you've really got your work cut out for you.

So much work... So little money...

Here is a method I did with my friend sometime in '08 - '10 (somewhere there).

You get a model, make sure she signs a legal contract (and all the other legal stuff she has to go through in your country. Like certificate of STD-free test, etc.) and do a solid rush filming with her. Start with her just playing with herself, record about 100 hours of content. This will take you about a week to do. Considering she has to change clothing, hair styles, makeup, etc.

Set it up as "A girl trying to make extra cash for college". Set up just ONE girl playing with her self, using toys, talking about random stuff. Pretty much an adult vlog. Set up a subscription service.

$39.99/month, but if they signup for a full year it drops to $240/year (which is $20/month).

Upload about 10-30 minutes of video a day (maybe 5 minutes in the morning, and 10 minutes in the evening).

Take about 2 weeks to automate everything so you won't bother with the site ever again and just focus on bringing traffic to the site.

    Simple math.

    1 signup = $20/month
    10 signups = $200/month
    100 signups = $2000/month
    500 signups = $10,000/month

At that point, start introducing her "friends" who also need money.
A solid 10-20% would jump and signup right away.

Bring it to 500 members again.

Anyways, that is what we use to do.

Then our families found out and we had to stop.

We are actually in the research and feasibility phase, so yes we are thinking about launching in two to three months.

Thank you for your point of view. Sounds like you have had experiences yourself in this business, and not the best ones.
When I look at the adult webcam market now, I feel there is very little left for creativity or originality, I would say it is very hard to stand out and really be unique.
I think there is good amount of money to be made for somebody who can control the quality of its brand, so of content quality, and has good marketing knowledge and weapons.
The right team does make a difference. And users grow in numbers everyday.

So, yes we have researched the laws of course, Europe is quite easy for this in general.

We dont really want to be another webcam site out there similar to others with another whitelabel template and thousands banners, trying to make a living on marketing battles...the idea is to focus on the brand, the quality of content and specs(HD is a must of course), we rather concentrate on quality than quantity.

So you would say that we have to start the other way round? Is the "quality" business model not viable in the webcam industry?

SO much work, so little money...... have you worked in the webcam business, or have you witnessed people around you having a hard time ? Can you devellop?

Your method sounds good & easy, how many models and/or sign up didi you reach?

It s good money so if you had tostop for ethical reasons, I guess you re not in the industry anymore....

But your model is much more Porn than webcam, it s actually not webcam at all, but I like the idea to work with one model, then another one, etc...

How and how much did you pay your models ?

    Thx a mil

I am in. I have a dozen or so ladies right now that I set up with my studio and am running everything through a few different cam sites. Pay is ok but they all take way to big of a percentage. I just joined to post this so I cant pm you yet. My partner is a sexy woman and she can recruit with the best of them. Let me know how this project is going or if you want to start it back up.
