    Hello ppl

    I wanted to get some opinion from the master's here

    I have bought a domain from godaddy auctions, 5 Year old domain, never dropped, clean domain to start a amazon affiliate blog.

    Would the domain age in anyway matter when it comes to ranking, and my link building efforts to rank this blog fast?

    I am just weighing in the positives of having a Aged domain vs Fresh domain.

    If the domain has links built previously then it will count. Otherwise only age does not matter that much.

    Age = can take better punishment in terms of link velocity.
    Age = better rankings.

    If it has decent links makes it even better.

    If it's worth it or not depends on the domain price.

    Having an aged domain with established (clean) links definitely makes ranking easier, yes.

    Age of the domain does not matter at all if you won't recreate the content. Age of the content matters and if you are planning to put new content there, then there's no point really. What matter ist the backlinks and backlink profile of the domain. THAT will help you rank much easier.

    Actually from what I've experienced even if you dont recreate the content age will make it a lot tougher to be penalized due to be link velocity. New domains can get penalized really easily while I've never had a single expired domain get penalized on me and I always start backlinking these from day 1 while I wait weeks before starting for new domains

    Well of course! But I was just saying that whether the domain has or hasn't been dropped and whether the age was "reset" or wasn't, has no impact on this. Of course, rest of what you are saying is 100% true from my experience as well.
