Large Email List 25k+ all active (College Students)

2 college email databases that I could potentially scrape from. Obviously they are all active email accounts, but what kind of legal trouble would you get in for blasting a message... If you could somehow manage to get through the filters?

I transferred colleges, and my old email is still active... I hate the place, and want to know if I can get some of the money back ;)

I'm not sure if this post is serious or not, just kind of curious what the black hat community thinks about it all... I know you all aren't opposed to bending a few rules to make a few bucks.

I searched and found a couple posts about this in the past, but nothing was conclusive.

Thanks, hopefully someone will chime in that knows something conclusive about this. It is one of those things that seems too good to be true though. I'm sure the system administrator has some checks and balances to prevent blackhat communities from doing this.
 
a professor at my school accidentally emailed everyone without BCC and someone in the class started emailing all of us spam offers lmfao i wonder if any converted. Anyways, for sure you could get in trouble either expelled if you are in the school or criminal charges.

They wouldn't know it was me that scraped the list. I wouldn't be worried about being expelled, but more if I were to use the list later and what kind of criminal charges that would result from that.

Criminal charges? Yeah thats if they catch you. And you would need to do some pretty serious "spamming" before they would try to do anything.

Lets just say i've done my fair share of emailing.

Take all the steps to make everything completely anonymous.

If you're still too paranoid just sell off the lists to someone in the debt relief/dating niche. I am sure they would pay a pretty penny.

I see your point, I understand the idea behind being completely anonymous, but I also think selling the list would be better than trying to pursue it. Do you know anything about EDU emails, and how strict the filters are? I must ask what your definition of a pretty penny is as well :)

Would also like to know the answer. I would probably prefer selling the list rather than using it myself. How much do you guys think it would be worth ?

i saw list like this sold $400+ per copy , but for you don't try to sell it since you have 0 repution online
no one will trust you , if you are sure it's active list use it for yourself ......
 
Scraping together a list like this is not hard. I am surprised someone would pay 400

Still have to be a student and know how to do it and where to sell it... I mean it is like many things in life, just because it seems incredibly easy to some, that doesn't necessarily mean it really is.

Alright, I understand. To be honest if my name wasn't included in the email list, I'd probably just give it away on BHW for some rep and thanks. I just don't want them to cross reference the list and figure out my name was deleted and the rest weren't ;)

I still believe it has to be against school policy somehow, and against at least a couple laws.
I wish there were some people with a background in law school that could help me understand the consequences a little better, rather than just stating it won't get me in trouble. I do appreciate your replies though, as many people won't give their opinion on here unless it benefits them.
