I see them all the time, advertising some product or method to make money online. My question is: have any of you had any success with making money off of them?

Thanks,

Landing pages are essential to conversion and basically any marketing campaign. How else would you advertise?

You realize how generic of a term "landing page" is right?

I think maybe you're talking about sales letters? The ones where you're brain hurts by the time you get half way through?

lol... yep. Sorry for not making my question clear. I see them quiet often, here is the example that brought about my interest/question.

I was just wondering if anyone had any luck with them, for "any" product or service.

Sorry if I'm kinda out of it and not expressing myself well...too much cold medicine today :P

When you are first starting out with your online internet marketing efforts you shouldn't really feel the compulsion to reinvent the wheel.

ALL of the big names online use optimized landing pages to generate sales. Even gurus who focus solely on adwords (ie. Perry Marshall) use them.

They are important. Search google for "internet marketing" and click on one of the ads that appears on the side.

Go to their landing page and take notes.

Duplicate, with your own slight spin of course.

Yeah, even those these suckers will give you brain farts if your IQ is higher than mud, fact is, they do convert. And study the pages on the big guys' sites. Those things have been optimized up the wazoo and they know what they're doing.

Copyrwriting isn't about educating people - it's about inspiring such a strong emotional reaction and lust in them that they absolutely must buy your product NOW.

Sites that do that successfully always convert.

Wow, this has to be the noob question I've ever seen on BHW. No offense. I don't really understand it to be honest. About 95% of the people who make money on here use a landing page in one way or another. They couldn't without them.

i guess he means "squeeze page" or "sales page" or something.

How about we cut out the direspect and help the guy? The term "landing page" means different things to different people. As has already been stated, there are other terms such as "squeeze page" and "sales page". To be honest, I get confused myself sometimes. Would someone who has full and complete knowledge like to post a short explanation of each term?

I'll kick off, these are my understandings:

Landing page - The first page of a website that your visitors see is your landing page. i.e. it's where your visitors "land", - usually as a result of your marketing.

Squeeze page - a type of landing page that essentially tries to get the visitor to opt in to a mailing list.

Sales page - another type of landing page, which tries to get a sale from the visitor. These pages are often very long, and make several attempts at 'closing' a sale. I guess this is what the OP is referring to.

I have to agree with you. If you really want to make people buy these two books are a must:
