This is a serious problem I have been facing for my own family.
The thing is, my mom has a land and house which is in the great place, which is on the corner of the street and has few factories around my house, so there are so many workers walk across everyday and night. My house is a great place to open a successful business.

That's not all. Recently, the government declare that the street, which my house located in, will be bigger and up to 20 meters width. You know what that means? This means the price of my house can Increase double! Therefore, a bunch of powerful and untouchable person want it so bad, and they come to my house by using slang words and tell that something bad will happen to my family if my mom doesn't legally sell it to them in a very cheap price.

You may thought that why don't I call the police? Why don't I go to the court and sue them? This is the problem. In Cambodia, this kind of thing is useless and just a waste of time because they are all the same (corrupted).

    Here is my plan:
    1. Setup Camera Security on every corner of my house.
    2. Use recording device every time my mom talk to them.
    3. Sell my house to someone more powerful than those son of the bitch.

    * Note: They can even kill my family members. They can do almost anything. Yes They Can (In Cambodia)!!!

    What do you suggest?
I'd like to know if I can have my story into Google News, Yahoo News, and Bing or not?
How can I let everyone knows how bad it happen?
Can I have any International help?
    Where else should I go?
    What else should I do?

I have no more than a month left. Please tell me what you know.

    From Frustrated OP,
    Thanks in advance.

Pay the cops more then the others do. If you can do that then I guess they win.

This happens in a lot of places, even in "first world" countries. I guess you've seen all the cowboy movies where the lonesome tough guy defends against a gang or something.

Either you defend your territory and get ready for a war, or you move out. There is no negotiating with such crooks.

I choose to fight and fight back fast. If I can't fight, I will move out.
Because I have about 20 days left, I would like to seek for advice and finding all the solution to solve this.

My suggestion is to sell the house, but to someone else for high price and move on. If the guys are some corporate dicks just move on. They don't care if you want to fight or not, they will just eliminate you and get what they want. If those guys are some street junkies, grab a weapon/bat call yo homies and kick some ass. I too live in a similar situation - no one here wants to be rich.. or else (sooner or later/you or your children) will suffer

I, too, want to fight since the first talk, but I have to think for a smart way to do it you know.
Weapon free if you are one of them, but I'm not. I use weapon, I go to jail. I think I may go to jail since I go to buy a weapon.
    This's not work here.

Want me to slay them all? Yes, I could and go to jail.
It's worse than just sell to them in the cheap price.

Just legally sell it at a really high price, if they want it they will most likely pay for it.

Do you have estate agents or is it just word of mouth?

I really have not experience anything like this.. Anyway, Just a suggestion - If you know them? like know their business and anything? Find a diversion for them or something, like create a trouble in their more important business without them knowing..

If you have connection to other bigger family, then ask for help. Maybe they'll ask for something more reasonable..

And also their enemy is your friend..

Yes they want it and want it in cheap price. If I don't sell to them, who know what happen to my family.
My mom is a well-known estate agents already. There's no negotiation works with those guys.
They even want it for free.

Seeing as the police and the officials are corrupt then why don't you:

    1- Hire private security (short-term)
2- Put your house at auction and sell it as soon as possible
3- Get a court restraining order for those people (even if it doesn't do much good it won't harm)
4- Move out of the country! That doesn't sound like a place worth living. If not out of the country at least move away.

Find NGOs in Cambodia. When I searched in Google I could find some NGO forums in Cambodia. Some of these NGOs fight for the rights of the poor and can help you if you approach them now.

Small suggestion would be to sell to an outside investor, this way you at least get a good price and move out.

you can fight, at least you yourself will have some honor, or buy weapons and put a sign saying something like all trespassers will be shot. In Latin America if you do something like that I have seen families go to war with narcs or private entities. Only in Cambodia do I see this low self-esteem, peaceful tension after someone insults a family member. Just saying don't take my advise, you leave in Cambodia and only you know your situation and environment, wishing luck dude!
