    Hey guys,

Alright, so KW1 returns over 10+ million plus results when simply searching KW1; when I search "KW1" with quotations it's a totally different story; 10k results.

I'm fairly new at KW research. I'm a wee bit confused. Is this an easily targeted KW since the exact "KW1" has little to no competition, or is it out of my league?

Sorry if my question has been answered... I searched around and didn't find what i was looking for. Just kinda caught me off guard KW 10+ million, 10k "KW".. heh.

Thanks guys... Love this place. =)

I have never followed that BS of with and without quotes. By experience with hundreds of trials and dozens of sites built I now just focus on the keyword without quotes and look for something with less than a million results.

Quotes just mean EXACT match, so if you are doing the keyword: Dog, well Dog is part of the word Dogs, so pages that have Dogs instead of Dog appear in the results.

However if we do "Dog" Only EXACTLY matching terms for the word Dog, not more, no less will be displayed. These are in reality your true competitors, but both should be considered. There is a lot of love to go around in that niche it looks like, basing your ENTIRE keyword research on exact or broad is limiting yourself because BOTH are important.

Also, take a look at the top 10 pages and see if they are actually optimized fro the keywords and the PR of them.

    Actually...

A lot of the results are pr2-pr5 with aged domains of 3-5 years... its a long tail kw so the actually page i.e. domain.com/category/page only has 10-50 links pointed to it.. mostly junk links.

My site is a pr2 aged 3 years... so technically speaking if i built a few quality link wheels, blog comments, bookmarks, and profile links I should have a decent chance rankning for the kw..right?
