I was trying out a new hosting provider KVC Hosting and everything was great for a few months until.... Now every site I had hosted on there has been hacked.

Anyone else had any issues with KVC Hosting?

Bad day here too. This is the first time this has ever happened to all sites on a particular server. I hate to say it but good thing I had most of my sites on godaddy. This is what I get for trying to save a little money.

I have more then 10 sites hacked this month, they are on different servers.
All are wordpress based. Are your sites wordpress based?
The hacker 'modified' the htaccess file, footer and index file on the recent used theme.
    No other files touched.
If your site are not on WP, I don't know.

Mine are all wordpress too. They edited the index files and replaced the css on the themes. All wordpress installs are from Softolicious one click installs. Any of yours installed with softililicious?

Man hostgator is not that safe. I host my sites with hostgator though. I had a client dev site on it, which I moved on to his server later on. But after a few week when I checked the dev site, it was hacked. It was an HTML page only, no DB delete or new WP install. Such problems can be if you use cracked themes/plugins. They have malicious code in them. Either you check the php files manually or don't use them. I have seen code in functions.php file, which will show a special link in the footer of site only when Google visit. For normal visitors no link in footer, so its very hard to track down for a normal WP user.

I had a friend who got all of his sites wiped out on host gator by a malicious hacker... so while they are a good host in general... no host is 100% secure.

Dat doesn't matters where you r hosting your site...If someone uploads a shell into the server then at least all cms based websites are surely in danger..The new method used to hack websites based on cms is called symlinking...They dump your database...And get root access on your website..so best way is to avoid cms..if you are using cms please pay attention on plugins...You are totally helpless if some one gets into the server other than your website..Best way is little bit security knowledge and awareness..
Please feel free to ping me on any such issue..I will try my best to help you all guys out...Peace..
