Kudos to IM: Obama used his list of 10M++ subscribers as collatarel

IM has just gotten a big endorsement from Obama campaign. News has emerged that at one point when his campaign was broke, they actually used their list as collateral.

I never really thought about it, but with a list that big, that was a huge part in him winning the election. Looking back one day, people may analyze it and say that the use of the internet was one of the main reasons he won the campaign. He's the first to do it, but I bet it becomes the norm in the future.
