A suggestion here ...

Many members are capable of finding the true identities of these scammers. May they expose them (after they are proved to be scamming members here) only after they get green signal to do so from Mods. So once these scammers' identities are out, other members may take whatever suitable actions (like sinking the sites, disclosing the real names, getting them on top in Google so that their near-dear ones and future offline/online bosses know their misdoings, their PP account getting banned, etc.) on their own and outside the forums.

IMO, we may see most of the scammers (raw and beginners definitely) get panicky and stay away from our forums and members. At least there will be great reduction in their numbers.

Sometimes hitting back with greatest power can be the best defense.

Thanks.

This is the very reason why I won't post about the person who scammed me. Not when they know your name and website.

Well, then this makes them more potent knowing that common people are scared of getting them reported. Should that scamster laugh at your cost of a website or two, or should you laugh at throwing that scamster's dirty hide inside the shredder?

The cost would be a 12 year old store and good portion of my income. A common search term used is xxx (name of my store) reviews. I could kiss the store goodbye if customers found out that I posted on a black hat forum. Not that I do anything bad, but there is a preconceived notion that black hatters are unethical. I'd lose a lot of sales.

In that case, I agree that you can stay in the background while some other member help you out in due time with a throwaway site ;)

There are many ways to beat a problem!

Of course, keep changing those passwords and make the login details hard to guess. The fellow already knows how he can enter the site or has a code written into it to come breaking some other day. Build up your site's security to highest levels.

P.S.:

I have read somewhere that one should never allow any third party to enter your best sites, esp money sites easily. You shouldn't give access to those gold-site's admin region esp to newcomers or programmers you would never trust in the first 2 to 5 years... this includes mentioning that site even for SEO work or other such reasons. It's also better to hand them the wallet rather than give away even the site's name.

I know but I feel so bad too. I don't want anyone to lose their money from the person who scammed me. He still posts here. It's hard when you're torn in half and you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.
