    I'm gonna say this right away: this is not going to be your everyday journey thread; it's my freakin' thread, and I'll do it my way.

    This thread is going to be hovering around 3 main objectives that I personally have: publish on kindle, get a youtube channel going and get in shape;
    I will update any time I have done something significant, I may not always answer questions, so don't get mad if that happens, as I'm on a really tight schedule.

    I will keep this thread going for a year; my projects also end in a year.
    I will post my financial stats, the most things that I've done, tried, the results I got, and my own thoughts on the subject at hand.

    I like short posts, so I'm gonna end this one; last thing I'll write are my starting stats:

    balance: 506,55?
    currently owning:
    • 2 TLDs, hosting
    • software
    • studio apartment (rent)
    • 7h/day job earning me enough to keep me going (+~50?/month after I paid everything off)
    • complete fitness equipment
    • professional recording hardware

    next update will probably cover my kindle and/or youtube projects and objectives.

    Good luck. Getting in shape is pretty easy so it should be an cool thing to blog about it.

    I noticed a trend around journey threads, where OPs just start answering questions, they slowly stop pushing towards their objectives, and finally, the thread gets abandoned. I, on the other hand, wish to set my priorities straight from the very beginning, and I just said that, in order to avoid getting replies like "help me with that", "why don't you do this", "why don't you make that" etc ... not meaning to be a dlck, but I thought I'd point that out.

    Meh, regardless, thanks.

    ok, so as I have a bit of time at work, here's some info:

    Youtube journey:

    I want to build up a channel, and as I said in another thread, I want to get to the point where I can make a living only from youtube revenue.
    The niche will probably start off general: anything from gaming, fitness, losing weight, gaining weight, life hacks, seduction and psychology advice to marketing, web design and programming; whatever I feel secure enough to vlog about and share my knowledge, or show my sense of humor and personality.
    Anyways, I'll advance with babysteps on this one, since I've never worked in this industry before, so I don't really know what to expect.

    and now,

    Kindle journey:

    I am going to start writing, both fiction and non fiction; I will start up with 2 projects, one of each type, and see which one advances faster. Since all this is almost new to me, too, I will try everything, and see what I can come up with.
    I will publish solely on the Kindle platform;
    I will use dragon for writing, and I will design my own covers, so basically, I don't have to pay for anything atm.
    Market research will also be done by me, I'm going to follow some advice I found on a kindle thread here on the forum, and I'll let you guys know how it all works out!

    and finally,

    Getting in shape:

    I am 1.79m tall and I weight roughly ~80kgs. I consider myself a bit overweight, since from that weight, I have far too little muscle and far too much fat on me.
    I have bought the following: a Weider 9000 complete bench and machine, a set of weights: long bar, curl bar, dumbbells and around 100kgs of steel weights; a pull-up bar, protective gloves and a bunch of other small equipment and accessories.

    General plan:

    The idea is to combine all these with my current schedule and lifestyle, and try to make it all work.
    I usually go to work around 8am, get home between 12 and 2, and get home around 6pm;
    I plan to change my schedule like this:

    work and projects: every evening, ~2h of extra work;
    weekends are off, since I have family duty to take care of.
    fitness: 3 days cardio, 3 days muscle building, alternating, and 1 day off; cardio days will consist of 30 minutes of jogging in the morning, and around 1 hour of swimming at noon, nothing in the evening; muscle days will consist of nothing or light exercises in the morning, nothing at noon, and hard workout in the evening for ~1-1 and a half hours, working the whole body in the process.

    kindle plan goes like this: I will first finish configuring dragon, and learning how to use it efficiently, then I will probably write a few test articles, just to see how it works; in the meantime, I will do my market research for both my fiction and non-fiction 'future tests', and finally, start writing some serious sh*t. Next step is publishing, and waiting patiently for the results, but more details on that later.

    youtube plan is fairly simple: basic market research, shooting a test video and getting feedback, posting a few videos, doing basic marketing on my videos, social books and all that, keep track in youtube searches for basic and longtail kws that I'll be targeting at first, and keep updated with my views, likes and subs. I will also try to get some nice profiles up and running, and get some activity going, while keeping up, as much as possible with users' activity, social signals and the replying-to-comments stuff.

    OK that's it for this morning, I may be coming back later, but you all know what normal jobs are like (apart from obnoxious and boring) ... they take up a hell lot'o time to make it seem like you're doing something constructive ...

    ok, today's update is going to be really short; basically all I did was to put together my fitness machine and I worked out yesterday evening; I also went to the pool and tortured my muscles today at noon;

    I tried getting some work done on one of my projects yesterday, but hormones killed everything, since a great girl started talking to me, and made me feel like sh*t later on;
    anyway, it's the weekend, and I have to go back to my parents' until saturday or sunday evening, meaning that, probably, I won't update this thread until next week;

    I feel down today, mainly because of that certain person of opposite sex, but I can feel it's affecting my other projects, too; I promise I will not let anything stop me, I will not abandon this thread or my projects, I will push forward, I will succeed!

    ok, another update today (too much free time at work):
    Concerning youtube, I started thinking about promotion, and mainly the self-indirect promotion that I will do on youtube itself;
    basically, if everything goes right, I will get myself "youtube blaster", a few hundred PVAs from a guy here on BHW, and also around 20 proxies, again here on BHW;
    I plan on scraping videos on my niche and making comments using my accounts, and although I haven't yet thought about how the comments will sound like (so that they won't be too spammy), I will try and create a fake 'early fame' for my channel, and try to direct people to my channel this way.

    what do you guys think? is this a viable solution?

    Oh yeah, I will also set aside a budget for views, subscribers and comments on my own videos, for when I'll actually have some videos posted;

    what's up BHW!
    nice morning, isn't it? well, not so much, since I woke up at 6 fuckin' thirty in the morning!
    anyways, I got back home, it's time to start working on my freakin' projects!
    during the weekend I did nothing other than read and study: psychology, storytelling, cold calling, and a bunch of other subjects; oh and I broke up with my girlfriend ... oh and that girl I met the other day, well... she doesn't speak to me anymore ...

    things are going to get better, I'm sure of it!
    (Youtube) I recorded my first video yesterday evening, but sadly, I found out that fraps had stopped recording due to lack of space on my SSD, so I moved the path to my external 2TB hdd and I'll try again today;
    (fitness) oh and I finally get to pick up my weights today, and start really working out!

    (Kindle) yeah, and I talked to a friend of mine, who's a lot more into literature than I am, and he offered to help whenever I will decide to start writing fiction, so I guess that's something, right?

    this journey thread is great for helping me keep on track; even if nobody ever reads it, it helps me and that's enough.

    Tonight, as I said, I plan to be all alone, no more friends, no more relatives coming over and sh*t like that, and I want to re-record my first video, or even my first 2 videos, or what the heck, even 3!
    And I also plan, if time will permit, to start playing around with Dragon, and get to know the interface and commands a little better.

    Today at work, I plan on writing down my ideas that I have jotted down on my tablet, about book ideas, youtube channel twists and such;
    later, dudes!

    it's funny how the universe has its ways to fùck up everything we plan, don't you think?

    I'm gonna be straight and to the point here: this journey's toast, and together with it, my plans; personally, I'm doing well, on the other hand;
    apparently, one of my colleagues from the job I resent so much (~40y.o guy) has more than 7 years of experience in marketing and such, and after a brief talk, we agreed to talk next monday over lunch, and it seems like we're going to start an online-offline hybrid affiliate business; he drives the traffic and takes care of site ergonomy, and I code the backend and learn marketing from him; we split the dough

    feels great to revigorate my faith in the working class every now and then ...

    so basically what I am saying is, that I just found a great source of income and a priceless fountain of information, so this thread is out, and so are my original plans;
    sorry guys!
