Hello there, I started doing kindle a while back and have published 6 ebooks so far ranging from 3000 to 5000 words. I know that is a very small number but I work full time somewhere else. I have not been able to do well so far with it. Initially what I did was, after publishing a book exchanged 5 to 10 reviews with other authors and my book would start selling well but after using the same strategy with first 3 books I thought not to do it any more. Only because it is quite unethical as we are misguiding the buyers by fake reviews that are posted only for the sake of boosting the ranks. Since then my sales have dropped drastically and I am selling only one book a day on average.

I am trying to learn better ways of marketing Kindle ebooks to achieve following:

    1. Huge number of downloads in KDP select days (Free promotion days)
    2. Get a few natural verified reviews from those huge number of downloads. (If 10k people download my book, atleast 10 will leave a feedback)

I am presently using following methods to promote my books on free days:
    1. Post on lots of facebook groups related to kindle
    2. Submit the book to websites for free in hopes that they will be listed

I presently dont know about any better solution to huge amount of downloads. If anybody here uses a service that is good and brings in lots of downloads, I could really use some help.

Make a twitter account dedicated to your books, make it look official. Find a popular author in your niche with active twitter account, go to his/her last few tweets (no more than a few days old) and follow everybody who favourited and retweeted them. Leave a few comments, it won't hurt . This is basic twitter marketing and it works in any niche.

    Good luck with sales

As Dante12 suggested you might give Twitter benefit of a doubt. Try looking for some of the kindle retweet accounts that have massive followings. I know I saw few of these. Once they add you all you have to do is add their retweet hashtag while your book if free and they will retweet you. You can easily expand on this to get retweeted on many accounts almost on auto-mode just by using their hashtags.

There's a good thread in the marketplace. A guy sells a good promotional service.

P.S It's nice for a change to see a fellow Paksitani asking actual question with some integrity.

I wouldnt advise using twitter...just write longer (or outsource) and publish more often. build a brand. if you do non fiction there are specific promo sites you can book to get more exposure. if fiction there are ones just for that to promote it. i would NOT advise doing the kindle free day strategy anymore...as of august it does NOT work anymore.
