I have been planning to start first Micro Niche Site and just need some advice from you all related to the domain name.
I know that it's great to have a exact match domain and that's what I am looking for.
Example - let's call my product a "car".
So keyword "best car" has 300 some exact searches.
Keyword "best small car" has 750 exact searches. 'Small' here means an adjective for my actual keyword.
Some other lsi have 200-500 monthly searches.
So what domain should I choose?
Should I go with "bestcar.com" or "bestsmallcar.com" which has more monthly searches.
I believe I should go for the one with more monthly searches but believe I won't be able to write about and promote "best big car" or "benefits of car" in the future which I believe will be more relevant with domain "bestcar.com".
    Thanks in advance.
PS- Don't tell me to go for an authority site rather than a MNS because I don't have enough resources :p
Also the title should not have the questionmark! Sorry.

Well that's not the question I wanted the answer for but anyways I think this niche is good enough. There is almost no competition and I hope I will be able to rank only with content. No backlinks. Will do some Web 2.0 if needed though.
    Thanks anyways!

Don't ask me why but I hate domains that contain the word "best". Everyone's website is the "best".

If I were you I would go with a .COM domain that contains the word "car" and a suffix or prefix, but not "best" (although it's on the list).

    Thank you for you advice.
Actually the "best" comes because I am going to make a list of "best cars(my product)" on the website.
Agreed that it doesn't sound very good though.
Also the .Com for "bestcar" is taken and dot net is available.

if there is almost no competition you don't need to have the exact keyword in the domain.
You can make your own "brand" look for a nice, short and memorable name. Of course a .com domain.

Seconded. If the keyword has a low competition, there'll certainly be no need for a exact match domain (EMD). But if you really want to use the EMD, go with bestcartips.com or bestcarreviews.com

I agree with comments above - You don't need an EMD, and "Best" looks terrible in a domain name.

What about EliteCar, or UltimateCar or something a bit more brandable that still means the same thing.

Exact match domain names are great for brand names. They're not great for keywords.

    For example.

For ACME Automobiles, the domain name www.acmeautomobiles.com would be great.

But for "buy cars now", which is not a brand name, www.buycarsnow.com will look spammy as shit and will probably be filtered by the exact match filter. (actually buycarsnow looks ok, it's not a good example. but think buycheapusedcarsnow ...that's the point, that's not a good domain)

The intent of the exact match counts. Google is looking for intent as much as they're looking for keywords. If the intent seems spammy, it hurts your ranking.

Go for a short and memorable domain name. Don't choose one based on keywords, choose based on brand .

Domain name will not have any role in your ranking.
My suggestion pick a name that sounds good and doesn't look spammy.

Don't bother with EMDs if you are looking for long term rankings. Go for a brandable domain which could contain your main keyword.

Go with a keyword from the niche and twist it, add secundary and tertiary keywords and you will see the best route.
