It has been a while since I have maintained my PBN, so I decided whilst I had some spare time, to check up on the domains. I have only just noticed that 20 of my domains have been deindexed :(

Now, im not sure when this happened but I have seen some of my sites rankings go down a few spots a few weeks ago, so im thinking this could be the reason (the deindexing).

Since I am paying monthly to a few different hosts for these deindexed domains, my first thought was to just forget about the sites and cancel the hosting.

    BUT

My main money makers that are linked from these domains are still holding there number one spot

What would you guys do if you where in this situation?

Remove all links and cancel the hosting?

Keep paying for the hosting and keep the links up?

    Im really stuck here guys

If you keep your links in de-indexed domains, it may harm their sites (not now but when google review).

Delete all de-indexed domains and cancel the hosting.

and check your website backlinks on ahrefs, what are the top backlinks?

    Thanks

    I'll second that.

Abandon the sinking ship now. Your money site is not ranking on top because of the de-indexed domains. Remove the bad apples from the backlink profile asap.

Yes, he does say it. But it is naive to assume that his backlink profile consists of only de-indexed domains.

I would abandon the domains that have been deindexed. I'm assuming that they're not helping your money site rank at the moment. What does your backlink profile look like? Are all of your links from these domains, or do you also have links from other domains that are still indexed? I'm assuming that you have a good mix of links and that the deindexed domains aren't helping you rank at all, so I would ditch them honestly.

    Thanks for the advice guys

As for my link profiles, not all of the links are from the deindexed domains, although in some cases, around half of the sites links are.

In theory, those deindexed domains shouldn't be helping now but I have see countless sites ranking for big terms for months even though a big portion of their PBNs are deindexed and yet they haven't taken down those domains. Pure speculation but I think Google takes its time to discount the link juice from those deindexed domains so if I were you, I wont take those domains down but would keep expanding my network. Good luck.

Exactly. Google takes time to discount the value of these links, may be they will do it once they run a major refresh, but till then those domains may be worth to keep. Also, make sure to cross check your domains from multiple locations, browsers etc as Google has been showing weird results for info:,site: operators for past few months.

How many different hosting sites/ips were your domains on? Can you think of anything that could have provided signals? Eg all the same cms etc, just try and think of why they were caught them take steps to prevent that in the future. If they were good domains losing 20 can be a huge investment lost.

What about taking the sites down, canceling hosting and fake sell them to yourself by transferring them to a different account and then parking them with a well known parking company for a few months? Might that clean them up enough to at least sell?

    Good point.

However, is it "too late" to drop those links once your sites starts to drop in ranking? Otherwise, how does one know when is a good time to drop the links from deindexed domains?

Start rebuilding your network now so when Google does catch on, you will already have replaced your deindexed domains.

Did you install GWT after the de-indexation happened? If yes do you see a warning in GWT related to PURE SPAM ?

Technically it is not a good thing to get links from penalized or de-indexed sites however if your money site still holding #1 then just enjoy it as it lasts

    UPDATE

I have deleted all posts from the deindexed domains. I had left a few footprints on those domains: all wordpress, all same registrar, all pointing to the same sites (posted in the same order) and half of them had been hosted on 'seo hosting'.

I have made a backup of all the posts and will be exporting them to new domains once I set them up. This could be seen as a footprint but its all in the name of testing. If they get hit again then at least I will know the outcome. Knowledge is worth much more than money.

Personally I dont believe that google will notice that the content is the same. But only time will tell.

    Thankyou all for your advice
