Killer Article For A Backlink But Where Can I Submit it?

Hey guys,
So me and a buddy have been building a blog, about cool stuff/gadgets/gizmos ect...Never really done any backlink building just social media sites like FB,twitter,tumblr,pinterest...
Never done any other backlinks..Think it's time to manually create some good links for the site as it just turned 12 months old

We currently rank 11 for our main keyword which is pretty competitive. Gets over 40k monthly searches in google alone. We also rank ok for some other related keywords but anyways, my buddy just wrote a killer article of just over 1000 words and we're thinking about using it for a backlink..

Where would be the best place to submit this article for a link, we're after strong a good strong tech related backlink.

Or do you think we should just add it to the site and not worry about backlinks?

Write for us "your niche"
Contribute "your niche"
Submit your article "your niche"
Guest blog "your niche"

Well, it's well written and it's worded very well. It's actually a really good read and it's also a soft sell to get people to visit our site. That's my opinion anyway and I'm pretty fussy/strict.

It all depends on your niche, but I would give "outbrain" and similar sites a look first. If not, then there is a service on BHW to get articles posted on some of the big sites, but quite pricey.
