Hey Guys,

I was hitting Kijiji.com pretty hard a few months back & I had a DSL modem to change my IP address everyday etc.. Eventually they ended up banning my entire IP Pool and that was the end of that (for a while). Funny thing I took my laptop over to a friends house to try to get some more posting in and I discovered something strange. I when I tried to make a post on his computer Kijiji had no CAPTCHA, and the posts went through perfectly. BUT when I tried posting via my Laptop through his internet connection the post all has CAPTCHA and none of them went through. So i went back on his PC tried it again and the posts all went through without CAPTCHA coming up..

Questions is "How The Hell Does Kijiji Know I'm Using My Laptop to Post"? When I went over to his house I checked the IP's on both the computers & they are the exact same. So it leaves me to one conclusion that they have some way if knowing you exact computer your are using to post?

Btw, I cleared my cookies, deleted registry values for IE & firefox, and re-installed both. Same issue.

i think by your mac address

Many people don't know this, but check to see that there's no flash cookies inside your jar. Google how to clear those flash cookies. They are separate from the browsers. As far as I know, no website could detect your mac address unless they have an exe ap running on your pc, and im sure your don't have anything kijiji running on your pc.

Thanks man, I've never heard of flash cookies & i believe kijiji does use flash for posting. I'll look into that.

better yet follow that link any where it says "limit the amount of information websites can store" move the slider all the way to 0KB so they cant store any sneaky ass cookies on your browser. Then click "never ask me again" & you're all set.

Kijiji thought they were smart!, I do give it to them not a lot of people know about flash cookies heck i did'nt even know they existed until today. & using the cookie to determine weather or not to CAPTCHA & block your PC? that's smart but not smart enough Kijiji:cool: being as you're owned by Ebay this is to be expected of you.

Hahaha they were smarter than you until I brought those cookies to your attention :p

Glad it helped. Now let them trick those other people who don't know flash cookies exist until they read this thread. :)

Genius. I was looking for an answer to this for months. Thank you so much for your help.

Any ideas how to by-pass the 24 hours delay ? It seems that regardless of how soon you activate your ads, they dont show up till 24 hours later.

Anyone have information on this? I've used the macromedia url above, however it doesn't appear to show any flash cookies.

Either they don't show in that mini browser control or they aren't there. I'm perplexed how they are tracking me as i use a new vpn/email account/clear all browsing history.

Ideas?
