Keywords seperated by a period, does it still work?

I have some keywords that together don't make alot of sense. Like for example, car red. Can you use these keywords via two sentences?

Example.

I drive a car. Red cars are my favorite.

It seems to show up this way on certain searches for the keyword, if i optimize this way will it still weigh the same with google? Or what about commas also?

Example- When is the best color for a car red? Beginning of sentence better with KW though. With the period I would be thinking of it more as relevant surrounding text. Related but contained elsewhere on the page when separated by a period. If low competition for KW it should work with enough volume but you are diluting your intention in another sentence. Get it? If you are just linking off site you can call it whatever the hell you want to and it does not have to make sense and will work too.

ok so try to keep it together in one sentence, but breaking it up may work for low compet keywords?

I still think this said it accurately-it should work with enough volume but you are diluting your intention in another sentence.
Still works, just closer to related content elsewhere on the page. More like having the car page also have content elsewhere on the page with spark plugs, engines, tires and such.
It counts but less than if it were connected so you will need to work harder with volume or extra relevance.
If you wrote the alg. for Gogl wouldnt you do that too?
