    Hi Guys, Girls.

    You may have seen various posts by me over the last few weeks and I'm still trying to get my head around SEO.

    Basically I believe there is a niche or gap within the market for the site I'm designing and building.. I even have lots of paid authors involved.

    The gap/niche is the fact the information / articles on my site are unqie there is competeion but no site houses this all under one room which I plan to bridge the gap and hopefully become number one for this area of topic. So in short, lots of competeion but its from micro sites with one or two articles each. There will be over 1000 articles.

    Since I don't want anyone knowing the gap/niche until its done lets pretend this is "Gerbils Advice"

    Now I am doing the backend linking, seo to this site as I can only afford articles being write and not the SEO for the site.

    I want the site to make revenue, some pages will have $1-$2 clicks but the revials are likely to dominate those higher payouts which I hope to knock out in time but not rush.

    My questions is do I target multiple keyword phrases for a page or keep it targetting just the one.. Let me explain, as Well im confused and it may be confusing reading this from a complete noob lol

    Lets saying I want housing for gerbils...

    "Housing for gerbils" Doesnt rank with adsense at all, but "Gerbil Housing" does
    while looking at market samur, I also notice that Gerbil Housing Requirements is listed as a good CPC, so is Gerbil Housing Advice.

    Now would it be best just to target one or many on a page? Does this mean I can rank for more than one?

    I was thinking of using

    Page Title [Gerbil Housing]

    H1 [Gerbil Housing]
    <Content>

    H2 [Gerbil Housing Requirements]
    <content>

    H2 [Gerbil Housing Advice]
    <content>

    H3 [Not so important information]
    <content>

    Keyword Meta [Gerbil Housing]
    Url Gerbil-Housing.html

    On backlinking [Gerbil Housing]

    Let me know your advice please, I have no idea if this is the correct method, any advice would be great. Thank You

    You're WAY over-optimised. See backlinkbanzai.com/SEOBasics.php for some background.

    Use modifiers and prefix/suffixes around your anchors and titles etc. Otherwise you'll be penalised by Google before you even get started.

    A page title of 'Gerbil Housing' is asking for trouble. Use something like 'New Gerbil Housing Ideas For Your Favourite Pet'. Maybe try and get some other secondary keywords in there too. A good title is a 6-10 word combination of several long/short-tail keyword combo's.

    Over optimisation in the BIGGEST mistake made by newb's now.

    So if I was to use 'New Gerbil Housing Ideas for Your Pet' would this count towards the CPC of 'Gerbil Housing'? Would H1 be Gerbil housing or New Gerbil Housing Ideas for your Pet?

    Keep the comments coming please.

    The point is to MIX them up. If they're ALL the same (or VERY close) -then it's a fingerprint of over-optimisation i.e. MANIPULATED content for SEO purposes. Title/H1/in-body/anchors should ALL be varied, both against each other, and in terms of linking in.

    On-Page SEO is on-going argument. And it's nowhere near as important as it used to be... Except where you trip Over-Optimisation filters because you've pushed a term too hard.

    Don't know what you mean by count towards CPC of 'Gerbil Housing' ? But if you mean will that page be picked up by Google AdSense for that term - then YES - of course.
