I am in the works of developing a keyword scraper. It is really slow, and the developer said that the difference between mine and the other ones is that they use google's API which is fast but costs a lot of money because it costs per search query that a user inputs. Is this true? Doesn't seem to make sense, since most softwares are a one time fee. This includes:
    MS
    MNF
    Keyword Blaze
    etc

I believe most of the keyword tools out there are scraping Google adwords. Not paying for api access.

That is what I am thinking. Seems rediciulous to charge so much, also so much for freely avail info.

There are a lot of tools that do not have to use googles API. Developers who are limited in knowledge will sometimes tell you that it is not possible. I would try consulting with other developers to get their opinion. It is also always good to hire a senior developers.
