It depends where you rank in Google and how many spots you can grab. Just because a KW gets X amount of searches doesn't mean you will get that much traffic.

Another factor that will determine how much traffic you get is your CTR. Grabbing rankings is just part of the puzzle; you need to have a captivating title and description that entices people to click through to your site.

Search Engine Watch did a case study around April/May of last year. You can check out the study if you want to get an idea of how much potential traffic each spot in Google gets.

P.S. I'm not associated with SEW in any way. I just like to stay on top of things as best as I can, and sometimes they have some good info to look at.

I'm not sure how else I could be clearer than in my last post...asking how much traffic you can get from broad, exact, or phrase match all depends on you and how well you rank your sites.

I posted you the link to the site where you can see a breakdown of the CTR for the top spots in Google. All you have to do is take the number of searches and multiply it by that number.

For example, if your targeted KW gets 5000 exact searches per month, then you could potentially grab 40% of that if you owned the top 2 spots in Google.

With that said, all research is just analysis and nothing is ever set in stone. Any KW tool including Google's is not 100% accurate, so the only way to ever know how much traffic you will get is to get your sites and track your traffic.

    Simple as that.

Don't care about broad terms. Just to to get your term ranked. Later try to target 300-500 Long tail keywords. That would justify how you can use your broad term to it's best.. !!
