Keyword research and EMD problem.

    Hi,

    I cant get the exact match for a keyword I want to as a .com, .net, .co.uk or a .org. Most of them have been snatched up and parked. I can get .info and .co. So what would be the best solution. To go for a domain with the keyword but for example [best]mydomainname.com or go for mydomainname.info or mydomainname.co. The idea of putting something like "best" before the domain would be appropriate for the niche but I want to rank the site just for mydomainname.com which has a lot more searches.

    Google don't bother about .co much in SERPs, so avoid that.
    .info becomes too difficult to rank for an average IMer, avoid that too.

    Put some prefix/suffix to your keyword and get a .com

    Not exactly. Ranking .info's really isn't hard. I had found a good keyword back in December and everything but the .info was taken. By March, I was on the front page with the majority of the effort taking place in Dec/Jan. Although, I do prefer a TLD. It is not impossible to rank without one.
