How important is it to keep targetted keyword in first paragraph? Is it compulsory for ranking or does not matter?

Nothing is compulsory in SEO.
So if your keyword is
why my back hurts
In the 1st para you wanna put the best answer, instead of putting the keyword
why my back hurts in the first para.
Also google don't know what is the keyword of your post, its hiddden in the backend of the post, as far as i know.

Yeah the keyword density is important for the article

You should use your focused keyword in the Title and in all the paragraphs too it will be an effective factor to get rankings

Targeted keyword in the first paragraph will help you to attract audience.

And mostly it will boost your site ranking too. use this keyword naturallly

I suggest using this in blog posts which is mandatory. Because, if the page doesn't have metadata, Google will take the first paragraph and consider it as a meta description of the page. Due to this, you should place the main keyword naturally in the first paragraph of the lengthy content.

Keywords are important because they tell search engines about the content of your website's page. “Keyword” is also a term that's used to refer to the words and phrases that people enter into a search engine to find information that they're looking for

so keywords density is important for google rank

Yes, you can add the main keyword in the first paragraph. But it's not mandatory. Keep the article high quality, relevant to the topic and more engaging. You can add the main keywords in title and meta description. Also, don't over do with the main keyword. Instead add some long tail keywords.

People are more likely to read the first paragraph of articles, so if you have a keyword in it you will be able to attract the audience as well. The keyword should appear naturally in the first paragraph. Be sure to follow the Google guidelines for keyword density!

Yes, it helps, place the keyword in right place. Also, make sure your article is well qualified because having it in first paragraph won't get you higher rankings, it has some impact that's it.

compulsory?? I don't think so. But it's one of those on-page SEO things that can help if you do it, I always put it in the 1st paragraph (usually in the 1st sentence of the paragraph). I got used to this since many years ago and it's coming natural to me now :)

This is not strictly necessary, but the greater the density of keywords in the text, the more audience you can attract. Not all people like to read articles to the end, so keywords at the beginning of the text will help you a lot.

I guess keyword should be placed where google bots read your page. Now, no one can say exactly in body where bot will read so adding it in every
100 or 200 words may help.

So, after title, head, 1st para of body may work great
