    hi,

i have this keyword that has 880 searches/month and is 11 on keyword revealer (extremely easy comp). the top 10 in the serps are pages from the official brand, and some amazon pages and etsy etc.

none of the pages in the top 10 have the kw on the url/title/desc/h1. 7/10 have 0 backlinks to the page, the page in no1 position has 111 backlinks to it, and 2 of them have below 10 backlinks to it.

    in short, very easy kw.

so would you go for this? before this whole update fiasco i would've wasted no time in launching a site, and ranking it within weeks. monetization could be adsense at first but also amazon/ebay etc.

but now i'm not so sure anymore. i don't think i can outrank the amazon and brand pages in the current seo climate. i could just whip up a quick parasite page and rank it, but what if i wanted to build up a site and flip it? would it be worth my time for this kw?

Are you sure they have no backlinks? Moz has the same issue. I think all backlink checkers are s*** apart from ahrefs. Moz tells me a site has 10 backlinks then I load Ahrefs and there's over 200.

Why don't you test it with a parasite and if you see it is simply to rank, then build out a site.

Keyword Revealer has one of the best difficulty competition checkers out there. Even though it gives you a low competition, it doesn't mean it is 100% accurate. All keyword difficulty tools work on an algorithm which is a hit or miss, in other words you cannot depend on anything to check difficulty but your own brain.

It's good that you analyzed the pages in top 10, let me tell you one thing it is easy to outrank amazon and other brand pages IF they are not optimizing for that keyword. The reason they are showing up is because they have authority. The answer is simple, go ahead and check the second and third pages in google and see if there are others optimizing for that particular keyword and then check their backlinks. If they are weak then it's 90% that you can easily rank for that keyword.

However, 880 searches per month is low but what you can do is find a bunch of these under 1k terms and build 1 site out of all and then SEO for all those terms. If they are easy keywords then SEO shouldn't cost that much and you should be good to go!

Ahrefs is definitely the best way to check backlinks. However there are a few other sources. I personally use http://www.openlinkprofiler.org/ as it is Free!

Keyword Revealer kicks ass because it's one of the best keyword tools I have used and its FREE :)

Try using Market Samurai to analyze the top 10 competition in google. It is really useful for that.

If you have a bunch of keywords then gather a list and check them in keyword revealer for difficulty. Sort out all the low difficulty ones and then check them in Market Samurai to analyze the top 10 and go from there!

    Good luck.
