Hello, I am updating my website and making it more seo friendly by writing original content, and other seo stuffs. I want to know what should be the keyword density of a three word Keyword, two word keyword, and one four word keyword.

    My keywords are :

    Live Chat
    Live chat Support
    Outsourced Live Chat Support

    Current density is :

    Live Chat : 8.36
    Live Chat Support : 7.83
Outsourced Live Chat Support : 3.66

I am a noob in on page seo. so, please tell me shall i reduce the density?

    Thanks
    :)

I always stick to 2-3% keyword density - anymore and it looks too spammy

I'd also say 8.3 is way too much. Better to stick between 2% to 5%.

8% is much too high for very strong keyword i stay from 1.5%-2,5% that should be a good density.

In the search engine market, google has a market share of approx. 72% (worldwide) when yahoo has approx 14%.

My point is : who (isn't insane and) cares about ranking in yahoo, when one could be ranking high in google ? :D

i say stick to under 4%. Why use 8% keyword density when you can have better results using 4%. It's not like money. Buying expensive stuff doesn't guarantee results and quality. Keywords are more like bribes. Couple of dollars in the right place will give more and better results. ;)

    I use 1-2 keywords (2-3 words/keyword) in a 500 word article, and don't ask about the resuults cause they're awesome :)

8.3% means every 12th word you use is your keyword - that is probably an overkill... Have what you've written proofread by someone else... G00gle might see is as keyword stuffing... I also try not to exceed 4-5%

8% keyword density is too high...just a tip you might want to remove your keywords from your top post....

While 8.5 percent is almost definitely too high, acceptable kw density varies from query to query. Often 1 percent is enough. Compare yours with the top 10 currently in google serps and see how it stacks up.

What do you mean by "top post"? First alinea of a page? Or the top post of the homepage of a blog?

While I usually stick to the general 2-5% keyword density, I have found that its a little bit of "whatever the market will bear". Some keywords and niches naturally have a higher keyword density. Much of it depends on how easily the keyword is to write into your copy.

For keywords that read "funny" a lower KD will do the job since your competitors are probably rather low as well. For keywords like "real estate" that can easily be put into text copy many times naturally, a keyword density of 5-8% is probably not uncommon.

Check your competitors and then check to see how your copy reads. If you have to twist your sentences into a pretzel to have them make sense, then go for the lower KD.

That sounds way high. I would assume that your density for "live" and "chat" is probably way higher too. From my experience you can lose rankings when any one word (besides "a" "the" etc) takes up too much of your page.

    Rule of thumb: 3% +- 0.5%
I'm amazed how u managed 8.3. Only science papers can get away with that.
