So I have found a few keywords which I am pretty confused about, I have read IamNRE's guide to keyword research and followed it step-by-step. I was wondering however, if keywords that are in double quotations that say for instance 255,000 results but when inurl: and intitle: are added the results are < 15,000 (which is still acceptable in IamNRE's guide, Traffic Travis has rated the keywords relatively easy and the leading domains have a domain age of 0 and a low PR (2) with VERY FEW backlinks.

Should I be going for this keyword or should I find something that is lower when using double quotations?

He did make a good guide with his post, as it give a general good understanding.

It's good to know what the different numbers means, but I don't find them important in the matter of determine the competition and how easy/hard it is to hit page 1.

TT is a good tool to get a quick overview about how many of the top20 sites that use keyword inurl, H1 format, backlinks and domain age. But that's it - don't take their rating to serious.

Look closer at the top 5 results. If you believe from their onsite and off site SEO that you are able to beat them, with relative little effort then go for it and don't worry about all the other 255.000 results that you got from first google quotation search.

It's impossible to give you the final answer from your information, but it does sounds like you should be able to get success with your chosen kw.

Go for it and enjoy the ride.
