Just a heads up. Someone has been getting into adwords accounts and running one day campaigns and deleting them the same day. Normally, I would blow it off as someone fell for a phishing scam but I know two people who have encountered this and they are seasoned vets who do not fall for that kind of shit. I suppose anything is possible. Google has been notified and I would hope they would do a global search for this URL, but the only reason it was spotted was after the account holders card was billed. The site that is being advertised is:

cheapfareshq.com

so fucking lame..

It's not possible, AFAIK, to actually delete campaigns from Adwords ... unless something has changed. You can only "hide" the "deleted" campaigns, but they remain forever.

Well, a lot of people (myself included) have their deleted campaigns hidden by default so it would be easy to be unaware of a rogue campaign like this.

Just out of curiosity, how much money was spent? And what has Google said about it (will they refund the charges, etc.)?

True enough Tommy, I had just come back to add to my post that one needs to Show "all" on the upper right corner. The choices are "all", "all active" and "all but deleted".

After reading Buzzkill's post I ran back into a bunch of accounts I have to make sure, since I don't all of them often.

Thanks for the alert Buzz.

thank for the alert. will change the choice to show all..campaings
btw is there a google comment about this..
will they pay back ?

Exactly thats how it was discovered. He asked if somehow his card had been used by our agency. I told him to view all campaigns and sure enough there was a campaign with a$4,000 daily spend in the deleted campaigns. The we heard about another one.

Google is refunding it.
