Keep a Trash section

It doesn't have to be public. A trash/garbage section has been useful for sites I've owned.

For example someone makes shitty posts or threads I throw it in a trash section instead of completely erasing it. Then all of a sudden he turns out to be a dirt bag I have his threads/posts with other members opinions showing that he is a complete asshole.

Usually this is an admin/mod only section.

There are to many threads/posts deleted here at least this way some of it can come back. Really I think there is to much moderation done to new and old members and complete threads although possibly negative shouldn't be deleted. I've seen good information deleted several times, but the warnings or other information was taken out because it seemed biased. Let it go, it would make for a more impartial view of everything.

I saw a section like that in one forum called "Jive Turkey Droppings" so there's a section title for you...

And of course then we'll have a section for all of Kingdom's stuff : )

Your concern is nice, but I think it is ridiculous, nobody should be allowed to trash talk in the first place. It would be like spoiling your child. It would greatly put a big question mark as what is the purpose of this place? Everybody here claims to be ?mature?, so ?nobody? will be using the trash talking section anyway. This is bad parenting 101. Moderators shouldn?t allow it to that point to joke about it, for it will develop into a habit (trash talking), that will lead out the doors of the trash talking forum. You guys must be feeling the stress, but this is a bad idea I think. It would be of entertainment which will be another thing distracting the forum from its goal, downloads is another too.

I guess you misread the original post, it's not a trash talking section that I was recommending, it's a trash section so deleted posts can be resurrected at a later point in time if necessary. Also most likely it would be a private section that only staff can view so it wouldn't even be part of the viewable forums. It's to help maintain control and have more information which might help with infractions or bannings since there is a permanent record as opposed to it just being deleted completely.

All explained then, the trash is gone, so this could be put on lay-away. The majority of the problems have cooled, nevertheless, understanding it, if the forum was under terrorism measures it could be useful, but then its never too late to implement it, it is probably already implemented for all I know. Good idea if there was a counter-activity going along with it, but as I said no terrorism here?yet.
