    Question.

Did they know about working on Christmas/Thanksgiving when they applied for the job?

I actually worked in a call center on Christmas and New Year etc. But guess what? Nobody called.. sat on my arse doing nothing all day for 200% wages but what a waste of time.

And another thing, no one is forcing them to work there.. its not slavery. What a bullshit idea to make a Facebook for this when there's so much wrong in the world that you could be worrying about.

Lol. I'm just asking questions that you can't handle apparently. Seeing that you are asking us to call them up and tell them to fuck off...

And another thing you (rage withheld) as you say, I am in America, and an American, and like it or not, we still sit at the top of the food chain, so when we declare a need for action, don't for a second think we need or want your approval. Things are about to get hot, way hot, here, as we are tired of being pushed around by the corporatocracy.

I don't work there Mate, but I know of preteen and teen children who will be spending Christmas home alone if nothing is done. And those who disregard humanity, are destined to suffer inhumanity. Karma, Mate.

A lot of people work on Christmas and Thanksgiving. My husband worked at ski resort when we were first married and he missed our firstborn's first Christmas. We weren't crying because of a violation of our "human rights." We were a young struggling family, thankful for the paycheck. If the people working at this call center aren't thankful for the paycheck they can quit. They can figure out their own way to make money and someone else will step into their place. Or they can sit on their ass waiting for someone to offer them a job that does not violate their "human right to spend time with family."

LBrown so you get screwed so that makes it ok if everyone else does? What a coward. These people have little choice but to work there that is why the treatment is so bad.

No, everyone makes their own choices. My family chose a paycheck over spending an over-hyped Pagan holiday together. These people can make whatever choice they want. What you don't seem to understand is that they have a choice and if they are staying there it is because they are choosing to work on the holidays.

I have never heard of a Call Center NOT working on Christmas and Thanksgiving. Every call center I have ever worked in requires you to work every holiday. I am going to call that number, and tell them "Thank you for employing people who are obviously ungrateful and don't appreciate having a job."

I doubt they make your friend work a 24 hour shift, so why isn't Christmas/Thanksgiving celebrated around their working hours? Buddyboy, you are what is wrong with your country. You complain there are no jobs, then your friend gets a job, and you complain that your friend actually has to go to work.

    Shame on you.

I don't need foreigners preaching to me about what is wrong with my country. What is wrong with my country is employee abuse and rotten labor standards. If you say at least it is better than other places, you are setting yourself up to one day be as bad as other places. The slide stops now.

Translation - I can't come up with anything to say to your well thought out responses, so I shall resort to acting like a child and call you names...just give up before it gets out of hand and you get yourself banned.

I live in America. I'm forced to work a minimum of 68 hours a week, and if I'm lucky I get 2 days off every 19 days. I also work every holiday. Am I upset? No. Was I hired in under these pretenses? No. I get paid a GREAT wage, 1-1/2 pay after 40 hours, 2 pay on sundays, and 3 pay on holidays. I have a great pension and health insurance.

How can someone bitch making $50 an hour, holiday or not??

For all the bitching I do about not wanting to go to work, I sleep well at night knowing there's going to be something to eat and I'm thankful I have a roof over my head. There's literally billions worse off than me.

If they don't want their job, they can work elsewhere.

I've had to work christmas, thanksgiving, new years, easter, etc. Usually we didn't get any bonus for it at all. I've also been on call for engineering and had to work remotely from a couch while I've sat and watched my whole family enjoy their holiday - being so close and yet utterly unable to participate.

It goes with the line of work at a call center. If its a new policy, usually they get their workers to sign off on it. If they signed off, its their choice. If not, well, its incentive to find alternative means of employment.

I admire your chutzpah, but I don't think this is as large of an issue as you're thinking it is.

It was shitty for them to change the policy, but business is business, and this is all part of having a J.O.B.

I am likely older and have seen better employee treatment in the U.S. It may not be a big deal to you, but at one time men were forced to work 24 hours straight here and the Unions stopped all that. Now the trend is moving backwards again and if I don't stop them here, what else is to be lost?
