Karma on Reddit

How does Reddit calculate karma?
Now, my total karma is 176 and I have 3 posts... 1 Post has 211 upvotes so how come my karma is below?
Also... karma keeps jumping... example... I had karma 169, then I posted a pic, after a few upvotes karma went to 172 then a bit later it went to 166 then a bit later to 176... why?

Reddit counter is a bit tricky and also don't forget there is downvotes maybe that's why your karma counting can go down. To answer your question it's impossible to know how they calculate karma but let's say on a 100 upvotes you get something like 70 78 or less ( from my experience).

Downvotes + sometimes it takes few minutes and hours to get your profile update with Karma.

I got a post going viral on reddit... 11.1k upvotes and karma? only 4.8k.
I know I don't need so much karma but it kinda sucks.

Its most probably the downvotes that you got.

Where do you post to get Karma. When I post, they don't allow to post.

How can you possibly figure out what goes into karma, its made up of the profiles of other users at the least.

Not every upvote counts as karma. Depending on the age of the account, the niche, and some other unknown factors, your karma can increase by 0 or by a lot. It's a strange algorithm.

Here's how you succeed on Reddit

Go to /r/gonewild

Post picture of your D with some self demoting comment like "You think it's too tiny? I get bullied a lot because of it"

Wait for pity comments and upvotes

When anyone comments saying your D size is OK, reply something nice like "thanks this makes me feel a little better". Get 10 to 20 upvotes for that.

Rinse. Repeat till you have 20000 votes.
