Today I took my site off my firefox homepage and was just wondering what everyone else does. It can't possibly help the bounce rate to open firefox a million times a day and then go right to another site from my own.

Why on earth would you care about your own bounce rate?

Google doesn't look positively on high bounce rates.

    Yeah Its a big Question ! :p
Dude you have to remember that Google knows your IP and its the owner IP so your Bounce rate doesn't matter to Google.

I have a lot of websites-like my own little private network. They all in some way feature my main source of income, which is my store. On this one certain website, it seems that people who want to purchase ads check the Alexa ranking often. I have a program that I got here that changes the Alexa ranking, but I also had the Alexa toolbar installed just because. So I put the website as the homepage because it couldn't hurt. However, the bounce rate is 72%. That's much too high for my liking.

Set it as your homepage and then open new tabs....If you just want to get more alexa toolbar viewings then what I do is open up a few of my sites in explorer then open firefox to do my actual browsing/work but leave explorer on in the background all day.

I thought it was impossible to have anything other than Google as a homepage on Firefox?

    P.S. Sarcasm.

Do you use proxies? I searched all over the internet, and couldn't find anything that talked about homepage + proxies + bounce rates.
