I was very early in the game, about 1998, and it was all about altavista, keyword stuffing and background colour text - the good old days. I wasn't doing any IM, just SEO for people.

I also made some good $$$ with internet cafe's and .com stocks around the same time as well. Then I gave it all up to go yacht racing and didn't get back into the game until about 2009, with a travel site my wife bought in 2005 and we'd sat on.

    God I wish I hadn't stopped.

Blog and ping was the shizzle.

Those were the days when you could set yahoo to show 100 results, hit CNTRL A and copy. Go over to your html that had a big h1 tag, put 2 adsense ad blocks side by side and then put in 40 lines, then paste your clipboard in. Or, we used to put it way off to the side using a table lol

200k page sites were the norm with Markov and Icerocket feeds :)

    Damn I miss that............

when 1GB RAM was A LOT of RAM, kind of like hearing a computer has 32gb of ram today.
back when cell phones where just that, a cellular telephone. before they had games or even custom ringtones. just a keypad, dial and hang up but where small enough for your pocket.

just a few random technological / internet things I remember from way back in the good old days.
