So I just used a method that was posted here earlier, I can't find the thread so here is the method:

    1. Find an e-mail submit cpa offer where the user submits their e-mail to get something free, such as an iphone or laptop or whatever.

    2. Post an ad an craigslist saying you are giving away an iphone or whatever the email submit is for, and the first person to respond gets the item. I said I got the item from a friend who gave it to me and I have no use for it, so I need to give it away

    3. Reply to each email saying you just gave away the item, but you just talked to your friend and he got the item free from "this website" where he had to submit his e-mail and then fill out a short survey

The question is, do I send back the response now and risk someone figuring out my scam and flagging my down my ad, or do I wait 7 for the ad to expire and then send back the response, knowing the ad is gone and therefore can't be flagged?

Also, I created a brand new yahoo email account just for the ad, so no other emails will be coming into this inbox, just the replies to the craigslist ad.

Just wait about a day or even two. Your ad will most likely be down by then anyways.

I did a variation on this, but took the lazy route which ultimately got my CL account banned. I just posted freebie laptop offers with shortened links to the landing page in the Free section. Pretended I had a new laptop to give away and included a nice amateur pic of a Dell. Made a lot of money for a couple of days.

Are you guys manually responding to these ads? It's creating some headaches replying to 500+ responses.

true, use some type of autoreplyer or else you're pretty much wasting time.

I've been trying to setup an autoresponder, but gmail keeps bouncing my messages back with a spam error. I wanted to use a SMTP server for sending responses, but my messages keep going to the same box.

Don't use GMail or any of that.
Get your own hosting, Setup a autoresponder.
Takes literally 20 minutes saves you hours of headaches.

Would you recommend a Linux Cent OS/Cpanel install on a vps?

Just use cPanel on a hostgator shared hosting account, you don't need a VPS just for responding.

There are plenty of promo codes lying around that let you get the first month for $1 too, so it's a pretty damn good deal. I've been using them + interspire exclusively for responding for almost a year now with no problems. Just be careful which host you choose because many will not have whitelisted IP's and so your emails will go straight to spam.

DANG!!!! my ad title on CL was " giving away a new blck iphone 4 "

clicked on my link in my email to check that it had been posted

& got the old - "This posting has been flagged for removal"

SO my question is should I have waited to post on CL because the account I posted on was brand new...or should I work on my ad title?

Set up a "blog" talking about the CPA Offer...free Wally World gift card, etc. Put your affiliate link in the "article" in the blog.

When you reply to the emails, explain that the item is gone but you got your new one with a gift card you found out about on the blog you just set up. The email should include the link to the blog.

Your conversions will be lower, but your traffic is naturally insulated because once the recipient gets to your "article," they will have to read your article/post, decide to click on the link, then decide to enter their email address into the CPA offer. The only questions you'll get from your AM will be about driving traffic and you may also get objections to the content of the article that contains the affiliate link.

This kind of traffic will convert better on the back end for the advertiser as a higher percentage of the people who make it all the way to the advertiser's landing page are usually serious enough to go through with at least one of the offers that follow.
