i just uploaded my first content rich youtube video to help promote my band.im a youtube noob so what exactly should i be doing to get hits?
so far i know that i can:

-send my video out to blogs in my niche market
-leave comments on popular videos in my niche market and find ways to get the comment top rated.

what else could i be doing?

Use Fiverr, or a service here on BHW search for SKITTLES, or Vagex(free) if you're low on cash, to get it more views. Once it has some views and the videos is good quality, it could could go mini viral and more exposure.

Share it on facebook pages and tell them to check out the video, if they like it, they'll let you know.

And upload more videos consistently, since you're trying to promote your band, you're going to need more than 1 video i think.

thanks!!!! going to check out skilttles and vagex. regarding fiverr. i see a lot of people selling views. wouldnt buying these views potentially cause your account to get flagged and deleted since its against youtube tos?

will definitely share on facebook forgot to add that as an obvious way to promote. have about 2,000 fans

    any other ideas guys?

Here's the rules for getting a lot of YT views for a band: 1. At least one person in the band needs to be "camera friendly" or 2. It needs to be a great tune or 3. Someone needs to be a great musician or singer and 4. DON'T SUCK.

Think logically. If youtube gave a fuck and banned people who botted views what makes it so I cant just bot my enemies video and have them banned?

they don't ban every botted video thats nonsense.but if you get famous on youtube and then it looks too obvious it might get banned.promote your video by getting likes comment and views on it as much as you can and also try to make it look natural.even if you just promote it a little it can take off.no doubt most people don't promote their videos.

No one even knows how to be imaginative for YouTube marketing and popularity. I guess I really do need a thread or some BSTS (waiting on 60 days to go BLUE!) about YouTube viralization (The correct way). I will pm you the knowledge you need to get started, follow it or not it is up to you. I think you will understand that most of these people on here can't be creative or just don't notice how to correctly use BSTS + Big Business Method to go viral. How did Bioshock go viral? How did Nicki Minaj or Justin Beiber go viral? How did those companies do it? Combine that with BSTS from here and you get a good chance of going viral. The rest is up to you, meaning if you suck go home. I don't help scrappas or 1 shots that quit when money needs to be spent to get famous and the returns are not guaranteed.

Obvious choice would be signing up to music related forums (there are some out there I think) and starting a new thread in the appropiate section with your vid embedded. Explain to them your situation (promoting, need views, etc). Ask them to rate, comment, subscribe to channel, share on facebook, tweet, etc. your video if they liked it. Because in my opinion, real social signals mean a lot here. I'd also use twitter for promoting, you can even make a twitter account for your band, and ask people to follow you if they like it. You can even ask for retweets if you already have some userbase. Tweet your video with music related hashtags and ask people to rate, comment, follow etc. if they like it.

Why do you always respond so rudely to people? Not all of us spend every waking hour on forums, hoping and praying that we become a senior member someday. Some of us actually have lives away from the computer screen.
