Yeah the wp editor sucks because of things like that. I used to switch to the full screen editor sometimes and I think it was less of a problem then. If you have the current version of wordpress though they've replaced the full screen editor with a new "distraction free" editor. Haven't tried that out so can't say anything about it.

The best solution I ever came up with for myself was to just compose posts in notepad and then paste them into the wordpress editor to publish. If your editing an existing post then change to html mode, copy the post and paste it into notepad, make your edits and then paste it back into the wordpress editor. It's kind of a kludge, but works for me.

There's also alternate editors available as plugins. I haven't tried any myself so can't make a recommendation, but search for wordpress editor plugins and you can find them. Some of them look like they might be pretty good. :cool2:

I had those problems when the visual editor was enabled, even though I was using the html editor. I turn off the visual editor, and I don't have those problems anymore.

Yeah I think I remember something about that too. By the time I figured that out though I was so used to just composing everything in notepad I just kept doing it that way. lol.

@OP - give what roryhill posted a try first. If it doesn't work for you then try the other suggestions, but I think turning the visual editor off might take care of the problem for you.

edit - If you still want to look into a better editor though, you can go to wordpress.org and search for the Foliopress WYSIWYG plugin. I haven't tried it myself yet, but it looks pretty good. I may check it out later.
