What kind of account?
How you running it?
What you doing with it?
If you mean a cheap purchased account with no email / phone verification and you start using it from a crappy proxy - then yes they ask you for verification ASAP
AFAIK it's automatic. They're locking up every new account to test for PVA and email.
It was created with a phone number (had to enter SMS code), then after 30 minutes of completing registration (and doing nothing), it prompted for phone verification again (entering code sent in SMS to said phone number). So essentially, 2x phone verified.
I posted a tweet hours later and it asked for phone verification after a few hours yet again. I have only temporary access to said phone numbers, so I can't verify now anymore.
Yes, they got really strict recently in my experience, prompting phone verification (entering code sent in SMS to phone number) multiple times now.
Since I don't have permanent access to phone numbers to verify with, this makes Twitter unusable for me.
That's the idea. It makes verification much more expensive for them, but since Jack got hacked from SMS that's how it goes now.
Would you say it's time to move to Instagram?
I really thought IG would pull a move like this before Twitter would, I've been proven wrong.
Instagram also does this FYI
AFAIK, IG only does this when following other accounts aggressively, or other spammy behavior and what not. And on IG, you have the option to change phone number when prompted for verification, right? On Twitter not.
Twitter does this even if you do nothing wrong (in my experience).
I managed to get 7 out of 10. really hard now but still working.
First lock will always appear minutes after registering, you will have to enter your Phone number and verify it. After that one verification, you wont have any issues.
that sounds more excessive than I generally hear about.
You are using account manually at home? Or automated on VPS / proxy?
For home IP manually, that sounds like something wrong.
Never had phone verification from IG... only password resets.
as for twitter... when I was botting, I was getting phone verification notices (so had to drop a few accounts). Now, I barely post on twitter so I get no warnings. Twitter is so useless in my opinion.
It seems they are becoming stricter than ever plus you can't use same number on other account too.
It does sound wrong, I agree, but that's how it became recently for me. I still have some Twitter accounts left, will test again in a week. If nothing improves, it's time to move onto something else for me.
Yes, I've experienced something similar on an account I recently made. Seems you really need a phone number you can have at least semi-permanent access to.
What's up with the antisemitic avatar? Reported.
You need dedicated phone number for twitter account.
I noticed that too. Nowadays all social networks become more and more picky, it seems they all harden their antispam filters at the same time.
I created a new Twitter account with email via their mobile app, it asked me immediately for phone verification after creation. I phone verified and wasn't prompted to phone verify later again.
However, the account was suspended a moment ago (not asked for PV). Likely because it was picked up as spam account.
How many hashtags do you put in a tweet? And how many times do you tweet per account in a day? It'd help me out a lot.
Separate names with a comma.
