Just logged on today and found out I had made my first sale. Well chuffed as I have only started learning about affiliate marketing a couple of weeks ago.
Now I have made one sale I know I can make a go of this. So anyone who is a noob like me keep going and you can do it - If I can you can!

I only submitted one article for this product (articles base) as well as a squidoo lens. Neither had many reads (less than 15) and I had 4 hoplinks I think (cant check on clickbank today cannot do reporting).

I had been trying adwords for other products with no sales so far.
Think I'll write a few more articles after this small success and try to scale it up.

This is all the more sweet as where I live we have just had huge flooding and my beach bar has been completely washed away. Just hope I can keep learning and make a real go of this.

Thanks to all thjs generous experts who take the time to educate noobs on this forum!

Hope this isnt my last sale ever!

    :)

Congrats from one Noob to another! I actually just had my first article approved by Ezine a few hours ago and my affiliate link (which always sat at zero visits while waiting!) has just had 6 visits in that time! I know this is extremely small potatoes on here, but everyone starts at zero! Good luck! :)

Nice to see a noob posting about taking action rather than asking a bunch of stupid questions that have been answered a million times here.

    Congrats...

Nice! Youll get a sale soon then I bet. I only made 21 dollars with 2 weeks work but I am chuffed lol. Actual article only took an hour to write so I guess that's not that bad. Anyway good luck and hope you get a load of sales.

I made my first sale using CB and manually spamming forums *cough* DP *cough*.

I remember saying "This affiliate marketing is probably a scam but f it. I will give it a go". I suspened all disbelief as Frank Kern would put it. :)

    I'm glad I did.

I had a hundred and something clicks on a masked affiliate link and then bam I got a sale. My cut was something like $11.79.

Very exciting stuff, I know how you are feeling. And also, NO. It won't be your last sale!

    BR, blackma :)

Manually spamming forums. Sweet hadn't thought of that. Great idea. Will give me something to do this afternoon. That'll have to wait though- I am off down the beach.

    This is great to hear.

    Now SCALE IT!

My first day making money on Clickbank, I made $5.25.

Today, with two hours to go, I've made $652.44.

At my best, I made $1,389.12.

There has been a lot of time in between that, and that time has been full of me scaling it. That's what you've got to do.

So don't quit. Keep it up.

Exactly what OTrap said. Getting to the first goal (say, $100 a day) is by far the hardest. It took me almost 2 years to reach a stable, constant, passive $100 a day. That was last may.

Now I'm making $800 a day, and there were days when I made over $1k in a day.

Thanks Otrap and Deusdies!! Those were very motivational posts! When I started I bought into a lot of the "$9238923784 in 3 days" schemes. Since then, I gave my head a shake, trashed a lot of the useless info that had me spinning in circles, and reset my goals so they are much more realistic such as your stories. And now I can get excited about seeing small numbers because I know the potential in them! Thanks for reinforcing this with your posts! :)

Perfect example of dedication OP. No matter what, never give up, never stop working, and never lose faith in yourself. It can take a long time to make your first sale or meet your first goal, but if you work hard at it with the right method FOR YOU, you're sure to overcome any obstacle and meet any goal you set your mind to. Keep up the good work, and thank you for the motivation.

I have experimented with adwords on 2 products. The first was a diet product where I offer a free report to download on the landing page. The report is an ebook which has some info plus reviews for the product I am pushing. I am in the process of changing the landing page so the user needs to opt in to receive the ebook by email. Previously they could download direct. So in answer to your question I will shortly be using a list and a landing page.

I am trying to use freefollowup for the opt in but when I tested it only one of the automated emails works. So if anyone is using this company definitely check.

The sale I made was a different product which was a direct link from a review on articlesbase.

Thanks for that. It's just what I need. Thanks OTrap and Deusdies for the inspiration. I'm yet to make my first sale, which is not a surprise considering I only just started promoting a CB product half an hour ago. I submitted 1 article to ArticleBase, which btw is still under review. Will work on more later. My point is - it's small things like this thread that give people like me just the necessary push to take action, keep failing and take action again. Those '$98765433 a day' threads don't really speak to me.

Congratulations and may this be the beginning of many more sales to come. Cheers!
